NC & Beyond began as a place to share my love of writing, the people, culture and beautiful outdoors of North Carolina, and traveling the world as much as time and my wallet allows. It’s my hope that you enjoy my stories, learn about places you might not have thought of traveling to before, and be inspired to set off on your own adventures across North Carolina and beyond. In addition to my own perspective, I am inviting the friends I have met through my explorations at home and around the world to share their experiences and advice.
My rules of travel (1) Always, always, always travel any chance you get. (2) Visiting a new place is always better if you know a local – they direct you to the best eats and often times suggest visiting places off the beaten path that you would not have found yourself that turn out to be the most amazing part of your trip. If you don’t know a local, strike up a conversation when you get there – it’s totally worth the effort. (3) Research, research, research before you go to make a list of your “must-see’s” and familiarize yourself with transportation and accommodation options BUT do not let the planning stop you from enjoying the moment on your trip and taking things as they come.
